First trip with Nina mid-pandemic after getting our shots

It was a little nerve wracking considering not knowing the severity if we did catch it (I eventually did a year later after this trip - worse experience ever)

Clean air, plenty of trees, and cool consistent weather it was too perfect to leave

I brought my Mandalorian Polaroid that Nina gifted me for our 9th anniversary and the Minolta XG-1 using Portra 400 as its first real world test run

I absolutely love walking around high-rise downtown areas especially like this

Plenty of opportunities for architecture photography (and yes, I definitely took way too many)

Pictured is the monorail track that’s slapped right in the middle of downtown with only one stop - The Space Needle)

It runs every 10 minutes or so and we could see it outside of our hotel window (shoutout to Hotel Pineapple for a fun, easy stay)

Although 2021 was getting somewhat better with COVID and a vaccine for it, the Public Market at Pike Place was still slammed with people shoulder to shoulder and cars trying to navigate the one-way

Too crowded and had to keep our feet moving because it was between disrupting foot traffic or the chance of getting run over

Rerouting ourselves with the buses as they had maintenance and rescheduled routes

While milling around UWash, saw some leftovers from BLM (Black Lives Matter) protests - pictured is an anti-protest letter torn up

2021

Majority of the trip was using the public transit system and LOTS of walking - an insane amount for 5 days I believe we did about 30 miles worth of just walking throughout Seattle

We made our first stop at Kerry park - popular for sunset views as you can see the Space Needle between the trees and the bay

Tons of people gathered for the same sight equipped with sweaters, blankets, weed, beer, and pizza

Loading a new roll in broad daylight was probably not the best decision but a great transition to the Japanese Garden we arrived to after trekking through the arboretum.

I despise Starbucks but visiting the roastery was pretty cool. I got my mom a unique mug because she likes collecting from different cities all over the US and the world.

We finally made it to the pedestrian bridge to the Washington Park Arboretum. It was mystifying walking through a residential neighborhood to find it edged up to this giant forest.
